 Nominated in the category « Révélation lyrique de l'Année » at the Victoires de La Musique Classique Awards 2011, French Baritone Alexandre Duhamel studied at the Paris National Conservatoire and was a member of the Opera de Paris Young Artists Program. He was awarded ‘Le Prix Lyrique du Cercle Carpeaux’ and ‘Le Prix de Association pour le rayonnement de l'Opéra national de Paris’, which both reward the most noticeable young singer during a season. 

 

Alexandre made his debut at the Opera national de Paris in Gianni Schicchi and returned for L'Horloge et Le Chat L'Enfant & les Sortilèges, Jake Wallace La fancuilla del West, Masetto Don Giovanni, Mordred Le Roi Arthus, Cithéron Platée.

He has worked with conductors including Marc Minkowski, Leonardo Garcia Alarcón, Michel Plasson, Sir Antonio Pappano, Carlo Rizzi, Alain Altinoglu, Jakub Hrůša...

 

In concert, he has performed at the BBC Proms (Pour les funérailles d'un soldat, L. Boulanger), at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, in the 40th Anniversary concert of the Théâtre Antique d’Orange and has given recitals at Amphithéâtre and Studio Bastille, the Corum de Montpellier for the Festival Radio France, and at the Opera de Bordeaux. He made his US debut with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra under Ludovic Morlot for L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. His concert repertoire includes Fauré’s Requiem, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, Berlioz’s L’Enfance du Christ and Debussy’s L’Enfant Prodigue. He has recorded Ramiro in Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole with Stéphane Denève and Asher Fisch, and Le Vice-roi in Offenbach's La Périchole with Marc Minkowski.
